I'm a bit focused on winter and books at the moment. A lovely combination. The above book is a beautiful collection of photomigraphical snowflakes, quotes and a smattering of information (light smattering mind).

Here is my favorite quote:

The pursuit of truth and beauty is a sphere of activity in which we are permitted to remain childrean all our lives --Albert Einstein

I'm reading "Winter Wheat" by Mildred Walker. I think you would really enjoy this book. It is set in 1940's, a young girl from Montana (Russian mother, New England Father) leaves for college--the family's wheat harvest paying her way.

It reminds me a bit of Willa Cather's "My Antonia" but Walker isn't quite as polished a writer. Still, it is very very good. Have you read it?
