Happy Autumn!

We've been

Watching Kokanee Spawn

And have adopted a little gurnsey.  Isn't she adorable?!

Quilting has been on hold for quite a bit, (it's food processing season you know)
 but that will be changing!

Elm Street Quilts Repeat QAL

I have been so busy lately I didn't think I'd finish the Repeat QAL, but I DID!

Elm Street Quilts

Here's my "Quilt" quilt.

My requirement for this quilt for myself was that it be made with fabric that I love.
I have Droplet from Doe by Carolyn Friedlander and Lotta Jansdotter's Tipu Bird

I used the traditional piecing pattern (which was great) from Patty at Elm Street Quilts
I added the pinwheel block.

It turned out pretty well--a little wonky in places
(I think next time I'll use her paper pieced patterns)

I was a little more bold on the back with this fun Lizzy House print.

I'm most excited because this is my very first machine quilted quilt.
It's not perfect, but I didn't ruin the quilt!  That's been my biggest fear.
This pic shows the quilting

I'm doing a happy dance!  I have enough confidence I may even quilt
a slightly larger quilt in the near future.  Look out here come some finishes!!

I didn't get any process pictures because I couldn't find my camera
--I don't know how it always gets away from me, but it does.

I'm so pleased with how this turned out!

Thanks so much Patty for doing this quilt along!  I'm going to make the whole quilt sometime.

I'm going to join in (a little late!) in this quilt along.  It's words!  I'm excited:

Elm Street Quilts
I'm off to pull fabric, because of course I should be cleaning!

Pack Patch Mini

This Finish began in the Spring of 2014 with a Quilt Along Chase at 1/4" Mark Blog did.

Each 12 patch represents a Different theme.
Here's the list, row by row from left to right:

True Colors, Favorite Colors, April Showers, May Flowers
Sewing Room, Moment of Me and Mom, Memory of Me and My Kids, Laundry
City Mouse, Country Mouse, Cheddar Block, Saturated Color
Favorite TV Show, Favorite Movie, Decade I Wish I Was Born in, Decade, I Was Born In
Modern, Vintage, (Own Choice) Different Scaled Dots, (Own choice) Colors I Wouldn't Choose.

It's hand quilted in raindrop circles and my favorite doodle on the edge.
It feels good to have it done and I love how the Robin's Egg Blue Sashing pops the patches.  It happen more in real life than in the picture.

I decided this quilt need it's own post.

I started it 3 years ago in January.
Finished it February 13, 2016!
It's 60" square and was given to my sweetheart for Valentine's Day.

He bought the fabric for me that I used for the stars several years before I started the quilt.
I wasn't sure how I was going to use them all together, but it's turned out amazing.
He has a great eye for color!

You can't tell in these pictures, but the off white sashing is a gold scroll print.

I hand quilted the concentric circles.  They are once inch apart.
I measured  it (which I never do) in honor of my basic math loving guy.
He measures everything and what do you know it does make a difference!
It got a little bunchy on the edges, but he likes it. And the quilting represents the ripple effect that's occurred in my life since he came into it....so the bunches seem appropriate too.

Here I am showing it off at my local quilt club.

I used Melissa at Happy Quilting's Starburst Pattern.  I participated in the quilt along she had for that pattern and I truly can't believe it's really done!  Neither can my husband.  He told me that he didn't think it would get done for a very long time because of all the other projects I have going.  I'm so grateful for someone who thinks 3 years for a quilt finish is fast!

I've been so busy these past months I haven't had time to check in much,
but here's our tree playing catch with the moon.

The birds are back and leaving footprints a sure sign of spring.
(And by Spring I mean the flip flop of snow and sunshine that will cover the next 4 months)

I FINISHED my Starburst quilt!  I hand quilted the whole thing.
It has a few wonky spots, but my dearest loves it and is pleased that it's done.

Then there's this little gem that I also hand quilted.
It's the Pack Patch Mini Quilt Along that
Chase at 1/4 Inch Mark did clear back in 2014.

Last but not least a wedding quilt for my lil' sis and her new husband.
It is getting worked on!

Hooray!

I'm participating the Drop and Give Me Twenty Quilting Challenge over on Facebook.

After two years......look how close I'm getting!

I'm hand quilting it so its taking some time, but I think it will be worth it....I'm almost there!
