I have a confession to make. I don't really like Dr. Seuss. It's true. So, today we went to the library for story time for the first time in a long while, and guess whose birthday we're celebrating? Usually I avoid the library and schools that seem to laud him the loudest this time of year. Cats in hats are everywhere. If I could have gotten away with it we would have turned around and come home. There are a few Seuss books I do like (To think that I saw it on Mulberry Street, The Places You'll Go, and ABC's) but mostly I'd just rather read anything else. I steeled myself for my particular un-favorite: The Cat in the Hat. To my delight we were read Green Eggs and Ham and The Foot Book. So, although I didn't manage to escape completely it wasn't bad, this week of Seuss.

Oh! Say it ain't so! :(

Starbellied Sneetches? Too Many Daves? (How can you not love Buck Buck McFee?) What Was I Scared Of? (those awful green pants!)

These are my favorites! But I could do without Cat in the Hat, and even Horton Hears a Who. Just not that into some of them. Green Eggs and Ham gets too tired for me. Maybe that is why I like the shorter stuff.

Ok so it really is mostly Cat in the Hat and that's since childhood so not really any particularly logical dislike, just deep seated. :) And everyone always dresses up as the cat. Thanks for a reminder of some good ones!

Hummm! I don't know if I can make this work but here's trying again. I love reading your Blog, I'm glad you like "Oh, The Places you'll go" I especially like that one. Just need to be choosy, huh? I especially like your "Fall up the Stairs" Story. It made me laugh! What a picture! Kia is at school again today. One more day with the kids here. Then we have two days to work and Parent conferences. Hope its more work than conferencing. Dave called yesterday to check in. Says he's doing fine - weather has been grim. Kia has bonded well with Vicki and all the kids in our class think she's wonderful. She's well mannered but still a frisky pup. Little much for the old girls - keeps us hoppin' (running up and down the stairs and across the overpass. She loves looking down on the cars. Our January winter is here with a vengance. Lots of cold and wind and a little snow. Finally rained today but still cold and windy. Sure love you lots. Hope this makes its way to you! Mai
